Independent Project
We have been working on our own independent projects. We had to have themes. My theme was amazing nature. We used different mediums. Mediums are different art supplies like using pain, crayons, marker, oil pastels, etc. I used carving blocks, water paint, crayon, and oil pastels. I will upload pictures of it when I finish. It's a really fun project.

Forced perspective
We took pictures that looked like they were real but the perspective that the pictures show make it look that way. That is forced perspective. Here is an example. It look like I have a giant hand and am holding that person. I took this picture. One hand was holding the camera while the other is in the picture as you can see. It was a fun project.

Minatures
This is a picture of my car. It's actually a toy. We were trying to make toys look like real life size objects. I picked this car and put it on a railing. Then I went up close and took the picture to make it look real and life like. There are many other examples on google.
Bubbles!
This is a picture I took of a bubble. I had to run to keep up with this bubble. The point of taking the bubble pictures was to see the reflections they could capture. It was fun doing this. If you look closely you can kind of see my reflcetion and the skys reflction. It's hard to see.

Mosaic
We have been working on mosaics in class. A mosaic is a picture made up of smaller pictures. Here is an example.
See the pac-man ghost is made up of smaller pictures. All the pictures put together make the ghost. This is a fairly simple one. You can make it as complicated as you want. It doesn't only have to be pictures either. You can also use tiles for your mosaic. In the process of making a mosaic with pictures you will usually need copies of certain colors. Mosaics are cool works of art.

Portraits
Last week and this week we worked on portaits. My photos turned out ok. Here's a picture I took of my friend Wendy. It turned out really good. We were using the rule of thirds and light to enhance our photos. We tried to get the light to look good and make the photo better.

Claymation
I just made a movie with clay. I took a lot of photos and put it into windows movie maker. I edited it to make a movie. It came out great. It was a project to compare to Edward Muybridge's work. Edward Muybridge was the first person to make a still photo movie using 26 cameras. It took a while to make the characters but editing was easy. We showed movement with our characters.

Flip Book
This is a picture from my flip book. My flip book had ten pages and it was a ball bouncing. It was really easy to make, but fun. It was a project to compare to other flip books and Edward Muybridge's work. I made a movie of this with Windows Movie Maker.

Henry Fox Talbot
In photography we talked about old photographers. My study was on Henry Fox Talbot. He invented the Calotype which was an improvement on the daugerreotype. He was also accepted in the Royal Society for his expertise in Mathematics.

My Pin Hole Cam
Last week in Photography we made pin-hole cameras out of pringles cans. We used a soda can to make a plate with a tiny hole and cut a hole in the pringles can. We put the plate in and covered the big hole leaving a small hole. We made a slider to cover and uncover the hole using cardboard. The inside is painted black so there are no reflections on the inside an it's dark. We make images by putting in photo sensitive paper inside and then uncovering the tiny hole.
Picture Taking
I like taking photos because it's fun and you can capture funny and/or important moments.
